Samsung has released the Android Pie update for the Galaxy A7 (2018) this week. The official Pie update with One UI is currently available for Galaxy A7 (Review) users in Russia, but it should roll out to other markets over the coming days. The update for the Galaxy A7 (2018) comes just days after Samsung rolled out the update for the Galaxy A8, Galaxy A8+ (2018) and Galaxy A9 (2018) mid-range phones.

Interestingly, the Android Pie update for the Galaxy A7 (2018) comes with the February 2019 security patch rather than a security patch for the current month of March. As per the changelog, the Android Pie update brings the new One UI experience that offers features like system-wide dark mode, a redesigned UI that focuses on bringing interactive elements to the bottom half of the screen for easy one-handed use, new Settings menu and an improved Bixby, among other things.

Samsung recently revealed its Android Pie update roadmap where the company mentions that the Galaxy A7, A8, A8+ and A9 (2018) will get updated in April, which suggests Samsung will start a broader rollout of the update for these smartphones next month. If you are using any one of these phones, you can manually check for the OTA update by heading to Settings > Software update > Download updates manually.

The Galaxy A7 (2018) is recognised as Samsung's first triple camera smartphone. The phone was launched in India last year at Rs 23,990, but is now available at Rs 18,990 on Amazon India and Samsung's online store. The triple camera setup includes an 8MP 120-degrees ultra wide-angle lens with f/2.4 aperture, a 24MP sensor with f/1.7 aperture and a 5MP depth sensor with f/2.2 aperture.

The Galaxy A7 (2018) sports a 6.0-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display and a glass design. It is powered by an octa-core Exynos 7885 SoC clocked at up to 2.2GHz. This is coupled with up to 6GB of RAM. The handset houses a 3,300mAh battery that manages to last for a full day on a single charge. It was launched running Android Oreo with Experience UI 9 on top.
