Christian Music News: Spotify isnt the only place people stream music (2025)
Just because it’s the biggest streaming platform, doesn’t mean it’s the only one.Just because it’s the biggest streaming platform, doesn’t mean it’s the only one.

I’ve worked with hundreds of artists during my time here at Christian Music Marketing, and something that rings true across the board is our general hyper-fixation on Spotify.
Don’t get me wrong, I love Spotify and am an avid user myself. However, when we hyper-fixate on Spotify we’re overlooking huge audiences that are actively listening on other platforms. (ie. Recently, we discovered an artist we're working with had been added to a huge station on Amazon Music. As a result, their single was getting more streams on Amazon than any other streaming platform and they had no clue!)
Don’t believe me? Here are just a few of the other platforms with sizable audience bases worldwide:- Apple Music had over 98 million users in 2022- Amazon Music had over 82 million users in 2022- Pandora had 47 million users in 2022- YouTube had over 1 billion users in 2022 (more than double Spotify’s annual user count!)
If you’re only paying attention to your audience and streaming numbers on Spotify, you could be neglecting audiences who are already engaging with your music on other streaming platforms!
This week, my challenge to you is to go and claim (if you haven’t already) your official Artist Profiles on each of these other major streaming platforms and dig into the data. Who knows, you might be pleasantly surprised to find out Spotify isn’t the only place fans are listening.
But you’ll never know until you find out!
