Seek Ye First the Kingdom is Track #9 on the Faithful Heart album “Songs from the Red Letters” which came out in the early 90s. It is the second song from that album that is featured on this channel. The first was “I am the Good Shepherd” which has wonderfully, had more views than I imagined. Seek Ye First features Rita Baloche on vocals.

I was on a roll doing a series of much-loved traditional hymns but have taken a break from that for a few songs. This song in particular, is special because it just beautifully sums up what it is we need to do to get through these tough and unpredictable times. It’s not easy to walk by faith, ignoring the flood of visual input but we have to learn to quietly, and faithfully, take God at His promise. Dedicated to Esther, a young mum of two (soon to be three) who now has the additional challenge of planning a move. Life is tough, but God is faithful!
