Yung Beathovens latest collab with KVSE, KISS ME, is a playful emo-punk, hip-hop crossover

Yung Beathoven is back with yet ANOTHER single and video, this time around an alt-rock, hyper-pop, hip-hop crossover featuring KVSE and it’s electrifying.

Titled “KISS ME”, the track is a declaration of the one’s thoughts and feelings towards a new love interest. With upbeat drums and a catchy emo-punk chorus line, this unlikely duo manage to create a sound similar to the likes of Iann Dior, Machine Gun Kelly, Juice Wrld or Travis Barker.

The accompanying music video, directed and animated by animator.boi, is a Rick and Morty-esque visual doused in moody hues of dark red lighting, playing out late night between abandoned cityscapes and sleazy bedrooms.

I do get the feeling that the track is a little too simple for its own good. Although catchy, the chorus hook is overly repetitive, and the lyrics don’t evoke any strong feelings for a song that’s supposed to be all about new love.

That being said, Yung Beathoven is a pure powerhouse and his playful creativity never fails to amaze me, whilst KVSE’s talent packs an equally wicked punch, bringing their artistic vision to life in a way that remains true to their style.
