Motivated by a desire to commemorate her brother’s 40th birthday in 2022 and empathise with the struggles he endured throughout his life, Voké embarked on a mission to articulate the profound experiences of Sickle Cell sufferers. Collaborating with Bankboy London ( Voké’s brother), esteemed producer and songwriter Nate Johnson,  as well as the talented Letitia B, with whom a serendipitous connection was forged during a songwriting retreat in Nashville ( courtesy of funding by the Arts Council England), they poured their collective creative energy into crafting a poignant anthem.
