African Music News: INSPIRE TODAY – BELIEVE HIS PROPHETS (2024)

Which is easier to do; to Believe God or His Prophets in these last days? That is the thought I have been pondering upon in the last few minutes, I read a passage in the scripture that is astounding and amazing, and it got me really thinking deeply about the popular phrase of King Jehoshaphat when he was afraid of the battle ahead of him, let me share what he actually said with you.

‘And they rose early in the morning and went forth into the wilderness of Tekoa, and as they went forth, Jehoshaphat stood and said, Hear Me, Oh Judah, and you inhabitants of Jerusalem: Believe in the Lord your God, so shall you be established; Believe His Prophets, so shall you prosper’ (2 Chron 20 v 20).

Yes, Believe His Prophets, so shall you Prosper, I love the rewards of Believing His Prophets but do not know if it is very easy to believe His Prophets. The problem is more of knowing and identifying His Prophets in today’s world. There are many false prophets out there who come in the name of the Lord to fleece the unsuspecting flock off their hard-earned monies with their fake feel-good prophecies. This has made many people lose faith in God or maybe at least Organized Religion, our churches are fast emptying out and many just attend services to tick the boxes.

I believe it is easier to Believe God than His Prophets because what they tell us to do are very hard and not as simple as most people desire. True Prophets give very difficult solutions to our problems at times and are sometimes vague, but we struggle to comprehend such directives and instructions with our minds because they do not make sense most of the time, yet Jehoshaphat asked us to believe them, and we shall prosper.

Let’s examine some of the most difficult prophetic instructions ever mentioned in the bible.

3 DIFFICULT PROPHETIC INSTRUCTIONS 

1. GO AND WASH IN THE RIVER: Elisha asked a Great Army General who had Leprosy to simply go and wash in a dirty River and he shall be cleansed, the general was very angry and left until his servants cautioned him with these words, ‘..and spoke to him and said, My father, if the prophet had bid thee to do some great thing, would you not have done it, how much rather when he said, Wash and be Clean’(2 Kings 5 v 14).

2. GIVE ME FIRST TO EAT: A woman was preparing her last meal during a bad drought in the land, then came this rough-looking Prophet who asked her to give him the last meal she was preparing to get more for herself and her son. She obeyed and got the reward; this prophet was Elijah, and this is recorded in 1 Kings 17 v 13.

3. FILL THE WATERPOTS WITH WATER: There was a wedding in Cana of Galilee and the host ran out of wine for his guests, our Lord was at the wedding, and they wanted wine, He told them to fill water pots with water and the people simply obeyed His Voice and they served water but the people drank wine. Amazing miracles happen when we simply Believe His Prophets (John 2 v 1-11)
